Fine Tuned Auto is proud to support Cell Phones for Soldiers by serving as an official drop-off location. Customers and community members can bring their gently used or newer cell phones to any of our convenient locations in Aurora, Broomfield, Erie, or Longmont during normal business hours. Donated phones are either refurbished or responsibly recycled, with proceeds helping provide communication services and emergency assistance to active-duty military personnel, veterans, and their families.
Cell Phones for Soldiers was founded in 2004 by siblings Robbie and Brittany Bergquist of Norwell, Massachusetts, who were just 12 and 13 years old when they launched the nonprofit organization. Their mission was simple but powerful: help America's troops stay connected with the loved ones waiting for them back home. Today, the organization continues to support active-duty military members and veterans through programs funded by the collection and recycling of donated mobile devices.
One of the organization's flagship initiatives, Minutes That Matter, provides free communication services to active-duty military personnel and veterans. Since its founding, Cell Phones for Soldiers has delivered more than 210 million minutes of free talk time, helping service members maintain meaningful connections with family and friends during deployments and beyond.
In 2012, the organization expanded its mission by launching Helping Heroes Home, a program that provides emergency financial assistance to veterans facing unexpected hardships. Assistance may include help with housing expenses, transportation, internet access, mobile phone service, and other essential needs that support a successful transition back to civilian life.
Cell Phones for Soldiers accepts used mobile phones from all major carriers. Every donated device or monetary contribution helps fund programs that directly benefit military members and veterans while keeping valuable electronics out of landfills. A device valued at just $5 can provide approximately 2.5 hours of free talk time for those who have proudly served our country.
